To become a member, you must open a savings account with a minimum
deposit of $5.00. A $5.00 membership fee is required to activate
your membership. Students are required to present a copy of a current
fee bill showing enrolled courses. All prospective members are required
to present a picture ID to open an account. A state-issued driver’s
license or ID card is UNOFCU’s preferred form of ID. Passports are

Accounts may be opened in person Monday – Friday, 9:30 AM
to 3:00 PM or by appointment. To schedule an appointment, please

In order to comply with the USA PATRIOT Act, the University of New
Orleans Federal Credit Union (UNOFCU) is required to verify the identity
of members applying for and opening new accounts/services or adding
signatories to existing accounts/services with the credit union.
Information that we are required to obtain includes, but is not limited
to:
- Name
- Residence address
- Mailing address (if different from above)
- Date of birth
- Social Security Number or Tax Identification Number (TIN)
- Copy of a government issued photo identification (State-Issued
Driver’s License, State-Issued Identification, Passport)
Additional data or identification, as required by the USA PATRIOT
Act, may also be gathered depending on the type of account applied
for or opened.
Data on existing members may be gathered as new accounts are opened,
new services are utilized or signatories are added to existing accounts.
The USA PATRIOT Act requires UNOFCU to maintain records of the identification
verification and update the information as necessary.
Confidentiality of the information will be maintained as required
under the Privacy Act and other applicable federal, state and local
laws and regulations. |
